Being brutally realistic & optimistic

"There's tremendous power in being brutally realistic and also brutally optimistic. That means you may be going through some challenges as an organization, as a team, maybe something's broken, something doesn't work. You're turning customers left and right. However, if you acknowledge those and with the team, you set the vision saying, all right, we're going to address these one by one. And here's what's on the other side. Once we address those, we are going to have so much demand that we're going to be struggling to keep up. And so it's so important from my perspective to set the vision. And it always makes me think of this line by this French author, Saint-Exupéry, who said something like, if you want to build a ship, don't go ahead and drum up people and ask them to go get wood and give them tasks and work. Teach them and show them to long for the immensity of the sea. And that's when the magic will happen. So it's the same thing in business and in sales, I would say."
